We are Steven and Deborah Decker, the parents of two wonderful little boys, both of whom have autism. We have founded a non-profit organization to create a special needs retreat near Sulphur, Oklahoma, in the heart of the Arbuckle Mountains. We know just how difficult it can be for families with special needs children to go on vacation. Our kids can sometimes be noisy, so hotels are rarely a good option for us. In fact, most accommodations fail to meet even the most basic safety needs of our kids. Safe and secure amenities, affordability and access to activities that our kids enjoy are nearly impossible to find.
Your tax-deductible donation will help to create a private, lakefront retreat for families with special needs. Families would be able to reserve a residence for up to one week at no cost to them! Our plan is to build up to six residences, as well as amenities, including a swimming beach, fishing dock, paddle boat, playground equipment and a pavilion with an outdoor grill. Our goal for 2010 is to purchase the land that has been identified for the retreat and begin construction. Your tax deductible donation would be greatly appreciated!
